Fall is in the Air

Don't miss out on the beauties of the fall season! I checked out a book on birds and butterflies from our library and my son and I have spent several hours on the back porch leafing through the pages. He wants to know all the different names and cries out in delight when we see a live bird or butterfly. Then we hunt through the book to find out what it is called. Yesterday we took a hike near a local lake. My son recognized the Monarch butterflies he saw flitting around and a bluebird in a tree. I found him late in the evening sitting in a chair, with his blankie and stuffed toy pouring over the pages of birds on his own. I am amazed by how much he can learn and how eager he is to absorb knowledge.
